Teacher training in digital education: Equitable and creative learning with role-playing games and robotics

This project is founded on collaboration between researchers and educators, aiming to develop a continuing education program for teachers which is sustainable in a context of constantly evolving technologies.

In line with the DEEP Consortium’s mission of equity, the training program takes into account issues of accessibility and gender or affiliation bias in its development, based on the realities in the field and by using offline methods.

The project is structured in two parts: The first part aims to assess the challenges and needs of teachers in terms of digital education in primary schools.

The second part aims to co-construct a continuing education strategy for digital education in collaboration with teachers, focusing on AI as an example of a rapidly evolving field.

About the DEEP Consortium:

With the aim of understanding the underlying principles, challenges, and impacts of digitization in primary education and promoting equitable and sustainable digital practices, the DEEP Consortium, through its partners, conducts collaborative research projects focused on key themes related to its mission.

EPFL is contributing to two of these projects: one in collaboration with the University of Teacher Education Schwyz (PHSZ) and the other in collaboration with the University of Teacher Education St. Gallen (PHSG).
